Day 1 - Pacific Crossing - 23rd March

We're off! Passports stamped. Boat inspected for smuggled giant tortoises. Goodbyes said to fellow sailboats.

Engine on. Anchor up. Motor out. Full sails up. Sailing at 5.5 knots in 8 knots of breeze and a flat sea. Perfect!

Tonight's dinner has just changed from Pasta Arabbiata to Mahi Mahi, potatoes and brocolli.

Paul, the wind steering is managing fine in this light wind and the whole rig feels completely unstressed.

Time to start getting ready for our first night at sea. Usually Night 1 is the time things decide to go wrong. Let's hope tonight is the exception.
