Back in the UK

Ah, the M25. How I've missed it. Friend (and Ibiza to Gibraltar crew) Linda met us at Gatwick. We had plenty of time to catch up because the motorway barely moved for 2 hours. Luckily it was the hottest day of the year so that was nice.

Interestingly we saw no taxis with "The Avenger" or "Abraham's Seed" or "Love the Lord" emblazoned across the windscreen during the entire journey. Equally the roadkill were foxes and badgers rather than mongooses (mongeese?) and cane toads. People seem greyer here, there are traffic cameras everywhere and none of the houses are on stilts.

But the sun is shining, Murray is through to the second week of Wimbledon and The Chilterns were spectacular as we caught up with Hugh and Linda's news during this afternoon's walk.

Little changes in Southampton except my Mum and Dad are even older and less able to cope than last time we were back.

Putiing these things down in writing usually crystallized ideas and makes them happen. So you might as well know I've agreed with Emma we will run a half marathon on 4th October. Today's exercise will help but the ice cream, meringues and shortbread biscuits probably won't.

I'm still the Membership Manager for the informal Atlantic Crossing Group google group and we're just starting to get this year's group of excited and nervous Crossers starting to join. Good luck to them all.
