Current Location: The usual.
I've left the computer on board Mehalah so this week the pictures are in a random order and the text is one big blob.
More good progress last week. Best news of all is that Hugh helped me finish the solar installation and on day one - a February day in the UK - it was kicking out up to 13amps. That's great and bodes extremely well for the future.
Also we managed to both install the new water tank which fits perfectly and to remove the second tank though that involved much furniture removal too. The new tank needed a bigger breather hose fitting which involved more gymnastics.
The beautiful weather encouraged me to climb the mast for the first time. La Vacha the cow came with me to compare the view with that from the top of Petronellas's mast. "Much higher" was the verdict.
Next was the dinghy. We want a complex arrangement that allows us to install wind steering in the back of the boat. That in turn means the dinghy must find a new home. We tried it in the foredeck. It's too big. We think we will get a smaller one. Anyone want a Walker Bay 310?
And then Linda continued the sorting and labelling exercise. She unearthed the third water tank. Disconnected and probably contaminated we plan to use it for storage rather than tankage.
There then followed more shaft brake discussions as well as trying to decide what to do with the sad windlass. That looks like a replacement job.
Back in Stroud we've heard the jib blocks are finished and the granny bars will be made "next week". Yeah, I bet.
That's it for now. One more week before we're off for some R&R on the Hurti Gruten - the post boat up the Norwegian coast. Can't wait for the break.
